San Diego

This is a place that I could live, if I could afford to purchase a decent home and still have enough left over to eat. Oh well, of course it might all fall into the ocean as well, but I think I would risk that.

We arrived here Friday night around 7 or 8. I was tired and I just don't remember and there is the three hour time difference as well. After checking into our hotel we walked over to Sushi Itto for dinner. Sushi Itto was OK, I found it interesting that every piece of rolled sushi on the menu contained cream cheese. Now, I like cream cheese, but it seemed a bit odd. Anywho, there is better sushi to be had in San Diego and I will get to that later. After dinner I was starting to feel the effects of jet lag and we headed off to our hotel.

Saturday morning, thanks to Joe's thorough research, we had breakfast at a great place called Cafe 222. If you are in SD you should check it out. Joe ordered the Peanut Butter and Banana stuffed French Toast, which he said was fantastic. I stayed with the tried and true All American (sans the farm animal), which was eggs, toast, potatoes minus the meat. Oh, and the fresh squeezed OJ was nummy!
Later we walked around the Gaslamp district. Hit a few stores. One of my favorites being Villa Moda. That is where I bought some of my favorite jewelery last year. There is also an amazing gallery of Tim Cantor pieces that I have fallen in love with!
Before I sign off I feel the need to mention two more restaurants that we went to on Saturday. For lunch we went to Ra Sushi, yes we ate sushi again. We had eaten at this place last year and loved and it is still just as good as before. For dinner we tried a new place (to us at least) called Monsoon. Really excellent Indian food and great service!

That is it for now... I am off to enjoy some Four Seasons hospitality!

Just for fun...

You Are: 60% Dog, 40% Cat

You are a nice blend of cat and dog.
You're playful but not too needy. And you're friendly but careful.
And while you have your moody moments, you're too happy to stay upset for long.

Joe and I are off to San Diego tomorrow and won't be back until next Thursday (gotta love the red eye). I may or may not post while I am there. I mean, I am pretty lazy and all. And there will be a pool and a spa and drinks...

Before I go, thought I would respond to Big Brothers comment that other brother and wife were in Honduras. I had actually, forgotten that they were going. But since they probably don't read my blog anyway they will most likely never know.... Of course that means Big Brother will most likely email them the link so I can be hassled about it at a future date.

I will be thinking of you whilst relaxing in the spa! Lenore, don't forget to take care of the big scary rabbit.

Todays Lesson is

all about Honduras. Since Big Brother and my Aunt and Uncle are currently (at least I think they are still there...) in Roatan Honduras for some underwater sight seeing I thought I would see what I could find on the internets about this country. Lenore, I think maybe this will change your mind.

Here is our government website that contains all the dry pertinent facts about Honduras. Unfortunately, the map that is included (above) isn't showing me where Roatan is exactly. I am assuming at this point that it is one of the islands on the northern side.

In searching for the actual location of Roatan I found this website peddling there wears... I hope Big Brother brings me back something nice! Hint! Hint!

Here is a list of some general websites that may be of interest:
Honduras.com
Roatan Tips

Then I found some actual maps of Roatan... it is to the north. OK, I tried to upload the island pics to blogger to no avail. Maybe because they are not a square? It only shows the middle of the maps. If you would really like to see the island you can go here.

Looks like a nice place to visit... so what do you think Lenore?

Spammed!

Someone had fun on my blog at 5:24 AM this morning. I was checking my email and saw that I had about 50 comments from Anonymous all at the exact same time... and no, I am not exagerating. I do like people to comment here, but I'm thinking that my friends just aren't capable of posting that many comments at the exact same time. I mean, that takes talent. I deleted the comments from July posts, I guess I could go back through EVERY post and delete them, but I just don't have the time. Here are some examples of what they left:

" Your are Excellent. And so is your site! Keep up the good work. Bookmarked."

" Hallo I absolutely adore your site. You have beautiful graphics I have ever seen."
" Super color scheme, I like it! Keep up the good work. Thanks for sharing this wonderful site with us."

Then under the spiffy comment is a symbol that leads you to there website. I'm sure they could sell you something fantastic.

Don't Breathe

Today we are experiencing yet another code orange day here in Charlotte. While I was googling for an article to link I found a similar one from last week. It makes one worry a bit when you are being told that going outside during the day isn't such a good idea. I thought outside air was supposed to be good for you??

Lists

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense".

Ralph Waldo Emerson

First things first. It is freakin hot here! Check out my weather pixie if you don’t believe me… I think she’s sweating.

The quote above really rings true for me today, at least in the sense that you need to start a new day fresh. I have these wonderful lists that I make almost everyday, even though only a few items may actually be completed. Here is a peak into my world of list making:

July 18, 2006
Pick up pants
Give blood
Purge old files
401K
Money
Handwash clothes
Water plants
Fishtank

Ok, so some may not make much sense to you, but that’s not the point, is it? I make these lists and typically certain items will roll from day to day until I finally get them done. For this particular day those items would be: purge old files, 401K, and fishtank. I also realized that I needed a master list of items that needed to be accomplished because otherwise my lists would exceed the space that is allocated in my planner. Oh, the things that I do to myself in the name of organization.

Other things that are on my master list include: organizing craft closet, order nose rings, wash windows, design closet for guest room 2. They are on the other list cause I just don’t feel like doing them right now. Maybe later? They will end up on a daily list eventually.

Rabbit reading

I finished reading this book on Wednesday. I was never the best at book reports, but I really do recommend this book. It's kinda a no holds barred look at the rabbit. I realize that may not sound all that interesting, but it really is. The two authors discuss everything from the rabbits role in various religions, fables to how they are slaughtered for food and fur to what great pets they are. This book is essentially everything you could have ever wanted to know about these amazing creatures. Amazing because I live with one and know just how smart these little critters are.

If you are so inclined you can order the book here, part of the proceeds will go to the House Rabbit Society. If you stop by I may even let you borrow it.

More Pirates

Although I still have not seen the now famous Pirate movie... I have been finding lots of interesting pirate paraphanelia on the web, such as this:

Isnt he just the cutest! I really need to go see this movie!

aaaargh!

Since I missed the new Pirates movie last night (I guess that's what I get for not pre-ordering my tickets) I thought I would post a few pirate jokes...

Q: What is a pirate’s favorite vegetable?
A: Arrrtichoke

Q: Where do pirates vacation?
A: Arrrchipelego & Arrrkansas

OK, so I found these on another blog, but you know how much I love jokes!

Then there is the age old question... When pirates meet do they shake hands?

Happy 4th of July!
