Corrections and Comments

Thanks for all of the comments. It's nice to know that people are actually reading this and that I have such nice friends!

I thought I would address a few things that came up in the comments. The friend that is sick (I am actually typing this from Tampa, waiting for her brother to pick me up) was in my wedding, but not the one you are thinking of. The flying girl I met in high school so we don't go back quite as far.

On a lighter note, Joe pointed out that I linked to the incorrect and, if you look closely, smaller fridge. Here is the beasts larger cousin. We apparently need a lot of space for all of the food that I will be cooking in the new house. Or, maybe it's for all of the entertaining that we will be doing. Who knows why.... we just need a really big fridge!

Belated updates

Hello Everyone!

It has been a while so you may be wondering whatI have been doing. The new house has become all consuming these days. We were finally given our closing information, which is: final walkthrough on May 23rd and the closing is May 30th. Not the dates we were planning for, but we will take them nonetheless. We rescheduled the movers for the 31st along with the closets and other miscellaneous items. The fantastic new fridge will be here on June 1st. Here is a look at the giant beast. I must be feeling better (the apartment has become a might cramped) about all of this since I have started to get back into my cross-stitch again and I even completed the first and most fantastic scarf ever. Well, completed except for the minor issue of binding off… details, details.

Here are a few pictures of our house... it really is looking good!

On a more serious note...

For those of you who don’t know, my best friend since I was five had a seizure and became comatose about a month back. Lucky for me, her brother was able to find me out in cyberspace and apprise me of the situation. Unfortunately, the doctors have no idea why this even happened. She has some past medical history that would seem to be the logical factor, but that all came out negative. Another scientific conundrum.

She has since regained consciousness, but even though she was in a coma for a short period of time she will still have to go through physical therapy. Can you imagine waking up and not being able to talk or feed yourself? That has to be frustrating. Since she is conscious I will be flying down to Florida next weekend to see her. I have been warned that she may not recognize me, but I really feel like I should go and see her. It may only be for a day, but that is at least something.

Oh! It is Friday!

Thanks guys for the comments... nice to see that someone IS reading my blog even though I have not exactly been updating on a regular basis.

JB... nice to know that bugs don't bite on Friday's. At the rate this is going I should just have a standing bug bite appointment with my doc.

Bug bite update

Went to the doctor yesterday and all went well. He actually pulled out a teeny tiny little stinger out of my leg. I can't believe he actually found it. I was given some anti-biotics which I started taking yesterday and it was MUCH better when I woke up this morning. I believe anything with a stinger and me are going to be enemies from now on.

Wine

C and I went to a wine tasting at the Mint Museum. A few of the wines were OK, but I wasn't all that impressed. I had more fun hangin with C than drinking the wines! Although, I am not averse to trying another one if it comes along. Now I need to get some things together and get some sleep, since C and I are getting up early for a wine apprecation class tomorrow morning... are you noticing a theme?

Missing time

It never seems like there is enough time in the day. I am sure everyone else feels that way as well, but I just needed to say that out loud. Here are a few items that I need to update everyone on.

House

The outside of our house is just about done. It needs a bit of a wash, but this is the final version! I really hope they leave that lovely dumster out front when they are done.

As you can see they have almost finished with the drywall. Looks like they will need to sand and then the primer will be all that is left. Hopefully, we will start to see some cabinets and things soon. Very excited to finally see what the inside is going to look like.

Bugs hate me... not for the faint of heart

Oh my god!! Apparently this is going to happen every time something bites or stings me. What I really don't like is that I have no idea what bit me. The consensus, at least between C and I, is a spider bite. I did get one suggestion of flea bite, but I think I am going to let that one go. The worst part, aside from the incessant itching, is the amazing heat that is radiating from this thing. I feel like I could power a whole neighborhood with the amazing solar energy radiating from my knee.

So, I guess that I will call my doctor tomorrow and see if I can get something for it without actually going into the office. Here it is... see how my leg (the one on the left) looks very deformed?

Colorado

I really didn't take any pictures while we were in Colorado. I did take a few on my phone, but I really have no idea how to get them onto the computer... oh Joe...

We had a really fabulous time as usual. I did ski for almost a whole day, four runs down the mountain is a record for me. I learned how to knit (thanks Aunt R!) and shopped till I couldn't shop any more. The picture above is a Oaxacan wood carving that Aunt R and Uncle D got for us. It is beautiful! You really need to come over and see it.

bye for now

Yes, I realize it is 1:30 in the AM, but this is how Joe and I get ready for a trip. This way we will be good and cranky and make everyone's life miserable until we get a good nights sleep...

We are off to lovely CO for some skiing with the family. I am really looking forward to my annual ski run, then I can call it a day and grab me a hot chocolate with butterscotch something or other (thanks C for the reminder!).

If I am not to warn out, maybe I will post some pictures of the trip when I get back.

not much happening

on the new home front, that is. Here is a fantastic picture of all the changes we have made to the home. That would be all the paper on the window there.

We will be doing are pre-drywall walkthrough on Monday, so hopefully there will be some progress soon.
You can only look at a wall of wiring so many times and get excited...

Fun test

I got 9/10... what did you get?

Fake or Foto

Lent

So, since I am not Catholic I decided that I would give up something for Lent. I am trying to eat better so I have chosen to go without fried food.

Joe has set up a pool if anyone is interested...

Sleepy

Well, the weekend is over and I really should go to sleep. But I feel this need to stay up so that I can be miserable all day tomorrow due to the actual lack of sleep. I guess this is just my way of creating misery for myself.

This was a pretty good weekend. The quad went out for dinner Friday night at Portofino's and I ordered the special which was extra yummy... mahi mahi with clams and mussels and linguini. Very very tasty and I hope that it is a special again! From there we were supposed to go see Brokeback Mountain, but it was not to be. Our dinner took an extra long time to arrive (very unusual for this place) and by the time we got to the theatre we realized that we were indeed too late. So off to pick up Jenni and head to World Market for a fun shopping extravaganza and then to play Uno. Much fun was had by all...

Saturday... not much to talk about. I did manage to get my eyebrows waxed and get a pedicure. That was so taxing that it took me hours to recuperate. Later, after I managed to shower I went to buy groceries. Yeah food! Later I did stitch on my CSO and almost completed my first goal until my eyes started to cross and I realized that it was 1AM. Probably time to go to bed...

Sunday... Slept in, very nice! I did manage to fix some blueberry pancakes this morning. Yummy, yummy! Laid around most of the day until we decided that we should probably go to our house and remove the rest of the random things that are left. Joe noticed that the heat was running even though we turned it off... then we realized that the gas was turned off (we turned everything off when we thought we were closing a month ago). So I turned off the gas to the fireplace and we will need to go back and check the gas water heater and furnace to make sure that when the gas comes back on it is not spewing into the house. That would probably be bad. Oh yeah, we did drive by the house again today. Not too much to report, but Joe did take a picture of our beautiful new shingled roof. I will get around to posting that eventually. Finally went to dinner with friends at Harpers. Love this place! Had a fantastic meal and it was nice to hang out with friends that I don't see that often... BTW: hope you are enjoying my blog and tell your man not to make to much fun of me :-)

That is it for me... to sleepy to type anymore...
